New Website, New Vision for 2021
I’m so excited to launch my new website and business outlook for 2021! I took a bit of a hiatus for the last two months of 2020 to rethink, retool and reset FKB Media Solutions. I officially launched my company just over two years ago and so much has happened. I decided to take a minute to catch my breath, look at what’s working, what’s not and if I was actually doing what I intended when I decided to become an entrepreneur. This break was one of the best decisions that I made, and I recommend all entrepreneurs do it at least once a year (I plan to make this an annual exercise for November and December).
Often as entrepreneurs we feel like hamsters running that wheel around and around, barely giving ourselves a proper rest. In the beginning, you’re CEO, worker bee, accounting, IT, purchasing, delivery, etc. It’s a lot! And if you don’t take a minute to examine what you are doing and make sure you are staying true to your mission, values, and goals, you will ultimately burnout and have nothing to show for it. If you are a solo-preneur, you get so used to doing everything, that it’s hard for you to accept help. You also have your own “system” (usually in your head), which makes it even harder to delegate.
In my time of reflection, I realized that some of the services I was undertaking were never a part of my business nor did I advertise them as such – I did it because I could. Which led to me taking on a lot of projects and commitments that were probably better suited for a team. Don’t get me wrong – I did an excellent job for my clients, but what I really should have done was hired some assistance. One of the reasons I didn’t was that I was thinking small – I’m a one woman-operation, I can’t afford staff! But I could, and I had to change my mindset and adjust my thinking to recognize that my business was growing, and I needed to grow with it mentally. So now, I have a Media Relations Assistant – Merisa Gomez-Adams and a Junior Public Relations Assistant, Spencer Sweeney. We are planning some big things for 2021!!! Which brings me back to my website.
In revamping my business, I had to redo my website to reflect the changes. My original website was built by me – once again because I decided I could do everything. This time around I had web designer, Adam Power, to build my new awesome site. I won’t go into detail here about what’s new, because I want you to check it out for yourself! What I will say, is that the process of rebuilding my site helped me tremendously in figuring out the future vision for my company. It also helped me narrow down my focus and be extremely specific about what FKB Media Solutions is and the services that it offers. This is only the beginning, FKB Media Productions Inc. is waiting in the wings to take flight – look out for more on that in an upcoming blog. In the meantime, go through the site and make sure to take advantage of all that I’m offering – some free and some paid.
I look forward to getting back to the grind and I am excited to see my vision for FKB Media Solutions executed. No more hamster wheel, now I’m running in the direction of great success.
