Good Bye 2024, You Were So Good to Me

Not since the year I was born have I felt so blessed by God for the year I have had. 2024 was a year of recognition, a year of growth and a year of gratitude. I’m not going to rehash all of the accolades that I and my company received this year (just read my previous blogs). The interesting thing is that the majority of the awards that I have won in my lifetime have happened in one year - 2024. I’m not sure why that is, however, I am not questioning why now, just grateful that a lifetime of hard work is being recognized. I don’t take that for granted.

I also launched a new facet of my business - a speaker’s bureau. This wasn’t part of my orginal business plan, but it came to me when a new vision and an old idea combined to form Find A Speaker. It has been a challenge to break into a market that has some very established players who have carved out a niche. But I am in it for the long haul and my goal is to build this speaker’s bureau into an international brand offering professional speakers who deliver an inspiring presentation each time they hit the stage.

I took on a few new volunteer roles - Foundation Board Chair of Women in Film and Television - Toronto, Board Member on the Canadian Academy and Canadian Ambassador for World Speech Day. In this last role, I’m gearing up for a major event on March 15th, 2025 (stay tuned for more details). This makes me even more excited about what lies ahead for FKB Media in the new year.

To start off the year, I’ll be one of four women featured on the 2025 Legacy Black History Month Poster. This recognition is both humbling and inspiring. It gives me motivation to continue on my entrepreneurial path that I chose to take six years ago. I’m also excited about being a part of the Banff Sparks Program for Women Producers and developing projects in the new year under my sister company, FKB Media Production Inc.

I feel like 2025 is already underway for me. I’m excited about what lies ahead and plan to keep the momentum of 2024 going. Blessings on Blessings….may we all flourish in this new year and reach our highest potential. And a special thanks to all who have cheered me on, supported me, encouraged me and loved me. 2025 - Let’s Goooooo!!
