Meet Canada's New Ambassador for World Speech Day
It’s been a very interesting year so far. I have been receiving accolades for my work, I have supported new and returning PR clients and my biggest undertaking has been launching my Find A Speaker Bureau. When I first decided to do it, I honestly didn’t know what I was getting into. However, I have a lifelong thirst for learning and taking on challenges — and so onward I went with this new initiative.
We are gearing up for our first big promotional event in partnership with Cineplex Entertainment. The amazing women of our bureau will have an opportunity to showcase their speaking skills to an audience of HR professionals, event planners, bookers and coordinators on September 12th. We have received so much interest and buzz about this event that we are already planning out next one! Which leads to my latest big announcement: I am now the Canadian Ambassador for World Speech Day (WSD).
This opportunity came through a series of networking moves that I made after attending the CanWIN Global Summit. I was asked to record a bit about myself for WSD’s Boss Lady Chronicles and was then connected to the founder and creative mind behind World Speech Day, Simon Gibson. If you’re not familiar with World Speech Day, it promotes live public speaking events in over 100 nations. They encourage people everywhere to make speeches and share ideas. They have partner schools across the globe: young people find a voice and shape the world. On their site you will see videos and photos of WSD events, locally organised, in many different cultures and situations, but all using the simple power of speech to bring change and build world citizenship.
World Speech Day takes place on March 15th, 2025 and the Find A Speaker Bureau is already working on our contribution for that special day.
