Bakery and Restaurant Entrepreneur Alon Ozery Is Set to Release His Revealing New Memoir
“Since I spent most of my time pretending to be someone else, I didn’t have a North Star to keep me on track. I lived my life according to what I presumed other people thought I should be. I think that I’m quiet and shy by nature, but disconnecting from myself heightened that. I was hiding from myself, hiding from others, hiding from everyone.” - Alon Ozery, author of Even The Sidewalk Could Tell
His mid-life coming out after a journey of self-discovery and healing that will help readers lead their own authentic life
October 25, 2021 (Toronto, ON) - He’s the co-founder of Ozery Bakery, a Canadian business success story that supplies all natural baked products to Starbucks, Walmart, Air Canada and Costcos across North America, but even though Alon Ozery was living the so-called perfect life with a wife and three children in the suburbs, it wasn’t an authentic life. Ozery is finally telling his mid-life coming out story in his self-help memoir Even the Sidewalk Could Tell: How I Came Out to my Wife, Three Children, and the World, which is set for release on Tuesday, November 16th at 217 Geary Avenue at 6pm and on Facebook Live, featuring an interview segment hosted by a fellow entrepreneur Kelsey Ramsden.
“I think everyone that does not feel as if they are living their life has their own coming out process they need to go through,” says Ozery. “I hope that by reading my story it will help people go through their learning stage faster. By doing so, life will become worth living.”
Alon Ozery’s story is one of growth, authenticity, and self-discovery. In his book, he shares the struggles he faced on his journey along with the tools and practices that aided him in finding his authentic self and sharing his truth with his family and friends.
Part of the proceeds from his book will be donated to Friends of Ruby, which supports LGBTQI2S youth through mental health services, practical supports, and housing.
Alon is the co-founder of Ozery Bakery, a natural commercial bakery based in Toronto that distributes across North America, and Parallel Brothers, a Middle Eastern eatery and sesame butter producer. He also hosts a podcast, Upfront Toronto: Conversations With People Who Move The City Forward, where he and his co-host Liza discuss their passion and views about Toronto with various guest speakers.
Preview the e-book here, which will be available on Amazon on November 16th.
Media registration is required for the launch and COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
