The Deadline is Tomorrow to Apply for Tazwiz’s $260K Financial Aid Program

The Online Marketplace is giving just over half of its seed money to Entrepreneurs & Startups

May 19th, 2020 (Toronto, ON) – He’s young, ambitious and grateful. 25-year-old Parth Patel, CEO and co-founder of Tazwiz, is overwhelmed by the response to his company’s initiative to help small businesses and startups get back to work in this COVID-19 economy. “We were the lucky ones. Our last round of seed funding came in just before the pandemic hit,” says Patel. “Our company is all about helping entrepreneurs be self-sufficient and run their business like a big corporation, but on a small business budget.”

Hundreds of businesses have applied for TazwizCare Aid, which gives the self-employed jobs and provides the businesses with funding to pay for the work. Ten businesses will receive $1000 each in cash. 500 businesses will receive 500K each in Tazwiz Credits (valued at $500) to use on the platform. Tazwiz connects customers who need tasks completed to students and professionals who can fulfill the task.

Registration closes for TazwizCare Aid on May 20th 2020. Businesses must fill out required information on how this aid will help their venture. On May 25th, the selected businesses will be announced, and recipients will receive their funds within 5 business days. TazwizCare Aid is supported by post-secondary business incubators: Queens Startup Runway, Seneca’s Helix and the University of Toronto Scarborough’s The Hub.

A Bit About Tazwiz:

The initial platform under the name EMS was born in Parth Patel’s Scarborough bedroom in 2017 and evolved into Tazwiz in 2018 with the assistance of Seneca College’s Helix incubator program. After winning a few startup competitions, Patel and his team knew they were on to something. In 2019, they secured pre-seed investment and their first office in Oshawa. The team expanded from 3 to 10 plus 8 overseas. With a mobile app developed and a successful soft launch, they received their closed seed round from a U.S investor.

Since their official launch in 2020, they have already expanded their platform by joining with the Ontario Long Term Care Association to build Link to LTC, a hybrid platform specifically designed to connect students in the medical field with long-term care facilities that need assistance. To date, more than 600 people have registered as well as 200 long-term care facilities. Other provinces are now interested in having Tazwiz build the same platform for them.
